ATTClimate Survey Data

The ATTClimate project has made its survey data publicly available through the CORA (Consorci de Serveis Universitaris de Catalunya) research data repository. CORA is the open-access repository for research data produced by Catalan universities and research institutions.

The data are deposited at cora.csuc.cat/repositoris.

ATTCLIMATE Survey

The ATTCLIMATE Survey is a four-wave panel study of the Spanish population fielded between 2023 and 2025. It tracks citizen attitudes towards climate change and support for a broad range of mitigation policies over time, enabling the analysis of opinion dynamics in response to real-world climate events and political developments.

Coverage and sample:

Wave Fieldwork period N
Wave 1 February 2023 ~4,765
Wave 2 April 2024 ~3,019
Wave 3 October–November 2024 ~3,734
Wave 4 2025 ~3,997

Wave 3 was split around the DANA flooding event of 30 October 2024, allowing pre/post comparisons of extreme weather event effects on climate attitudes.

Thematic coverage includes:

  • Support for climate mitigation policies (carbon taxes, low-emission zones, renewable energy, etc.)
  • Beliefs about the origin and severity of climate change
  • Political ideology and party preferences
  • Institutional trust
  • Territorial identity
  • Sociodemographic characteristics

Available materials:

  • Harmonised cross-sectional dataset (all waves stacked)
  • Longitudinal panel dataset (respondents tracked across waves)
  • Individual wave datasets
  • Codebook (variable descriptions, value labels, availability by wave)
  • Original questionnaires (Spanish and English)
